Start before the book ships.

The companion worksheet from the book. It asks what you sell, where you are stuck, and what the business currently looks like, and it gives you back the first pass I would want in front of me if I were looking at your operation. Free. You do not have to buy anything or book a call with anyone.

The last chapter asks you to find one thing worth fixing. It is a great deal easier to find that one thing if you can remember where you began.

If you had the cash instead of this card today, would you buy it again at the current cost?

Contribution is what this transaction gave the business to work with, before rent, payroll, software, and you. It is not net profit. Leave the labor field empty unless you are examining a workflow: per-card labor is a question about the process, not a line on the card.

Once the scores are in, pick the weakest line and give it a review date.
